The mission of Gammelgården Museum of Scandia is to preserve, present, and promote Swedish immigrant heritage and history. Through engaging exhibitions, educational programs, and community events, the museum aims to celebrate and share the rich history, arts, culture, traditions, and customs of the Scandinavian people as they relate to and impact contemporary American society.

Closed: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Holy Week and Easter, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, 4th of July, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve.

Historic Buildings
Open only during tours and large, public events.
Building signs and virtual tours provide information and a glimpse inside the buildings when the buildings are closed.
