The Murray County Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the collection, preservation, interpretation, and dissemination of Murray County’s history.
The society was established in 1934 and operates the Murray County Historical Museum, the Dinehart Holt House, the Sierk Agricultural Building, and the Wornson Log Cabin in cooperation with the Murray County Board of Commissioners. The Historical Society collects and maintains the material history of the county for the benefit of its residents and visitors. Vital records and historical objects that define the nature and culture of Murray County can be found in the museum’s collections.
The museum’s hours year round are:
Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the exception of holidays
