Description
Photograph of 8 people outside a house. The note on the back of the photograph says, "The old home on the farm in Reno, Pope County before the cyclone which carried all buildings etc. away - leaving destruction in the year 1897 - July 6th." Janet Nelson from the Douglas County Historical Society has identified the woman on the far right as Annette Peacock Moses and the woman 2nd from the right as Ida Peacock Cox. Since the Peacock home was destroyed in the 1897 cyclone, it could be a portrait of the Robert and Ruth Peacock family. The young man on the ground to the right is probably their son George.Related People and Organizations
