Description
Pan, Baking: Clay baking pan.

Turk's Head baking pan--some of the first made in Goodhue County. It is tan with a rim with a trough. It is 4.375"H with a 11.25" diameter. It has fluted sides, a rounded (beehive-shaped) central post with perforation. Made by John Pohl (John Paul) in Goodhue in the late 1860s or early 1870s. John Paul was a German potter who settled in Goodhue County in 1861 on the site later to become the clay pits of the Red Wing stoneware industry.
