Description
Apron: White and blue striped half length apron. The apron is silk. It goes to right below the knees. Around the edge and bottom is a 1 1/2" wide pleated ruffle with a blue sewn line along the top and bottom. On each top side is a patch pocket. Over the top outside of the pocket is a triangular flap with blue ric-rac around it and a blue thread covered circle with a blue thread covered oblong tassel on each side and the bottom. The waistband is 1/2" wide. The apron is gathered under the waistband. The waistband and ties have horizontal stripes. The ties are 1/2" wide. The right tie is 6 1/2" long and the left tie is 7" long.

Once belonged to Mrs. (General) Israel Garrard of Frontenac. Mrs. Garrard gave the apron to Kate Huneke, who gave it to her niece, Mrs. Alice Peper. Kate Wood Garrard died in 1867.
