Description
Cushioned horseshoe. Rounded shape 6.5 x 5.75" made of hard rubber with rubber heel. One side with cup ornamented with the number 4 and "Dryden Rubber Co., Straw Chicago." This was an invention of Arthur Smithson, a Glenwood blacksmith. (And father of the donor.) This shoe clamps on a horse's hoof and "Outlasts and ordinary shoe 120 times."
