Description
Hood: Black and cream colored knitted and crocheted wool hood. It has long ties and is approximately 22". Around the edge is shell stitch edging of cream colored yarn. It is lined with black velvet in the head area. It has black satin ties. There are black and gray satin ties that form a bow on the top of the head. Condition - Good.

Worn by Mrs William F. Maas (Nee: Johanna Ninmann, 1 August 1835--1 December 1910). They farmed in Sections 13, 22, 23, and 25 in Pine Island Township.

Brenda Wiech who did research on the object 1.1.5212a for a documentary in 2008 wrote, "According to the 1885 MN Census records as well as the 1877 Goodhue County plat map Mr. & Mrs. William F. Maas lived, and owned a large amount of land, near the pioneer village of Poplar Grove in Pine Island township.".
