Description
A photo of four men and bartender drinking at a bar in Glenwood. The bartender, John Flow, is wearing a white apron. Oscar Wollan is second from left. Visible on the wall in the background is a painting sometimes attributed to the Lake Linka School of M.G.R. Skaar. The painting is artifact 2018.4281. Additional research attributes the painting to W.B. Chambers, an itinerant theater artist.

Glenwood Herald, April 12, 1895: John Flow has hired out to tend bar for Ole Holte, and his better half (Annie [Barsness]) caters to the wants of the hungry at the Starbuck House, during the temporary absence of Mrs. Nolting.
Glenwood Herald, October 20, 1899: John Flow, the portly musician of Starbuck was over here one day in the interest of the Firemen's Ball which takes place this evening. John says he recently sold his restaurant business to Julius Knutson, and is now, so to speak, a gentleman of leisure.
