Post card of Glenwood looking north on Franklin Street. there is a sign that reads J.H. Thoreson Land & Loans. He sold his business in 1946. Also visible are the Glenwood Apartments, Boston Cafe, Fremad Building, McCauley Opera House, Pope County State Bank and the McNitt Building.The McCauley Opera House / Glenwood Theater and the major addition to the Fremad building were completed in 1919. The McNitt building at the corner of Minnesota and Franklin burned in 1942.
Gas pump in front of the Fremad is in the Sanborn map 1917, but not in 1929. The Boston Cafe relocated to this Conrad Building location in May 1927.
