Description
Collection of prints from the collection "Twelve Examples of Navajo Weaving" from drawings cut on linoleum blocks by Ruth Connely. It was put together as part of a Works Progress Administration project in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1934. The prints are in color. Some are water damaged from display. We are missing #2 and #9 from the series.
The project was undertaken to provide colored prints for use by the United States Indian Service in encouraging a revival of the older design is Navajo weaving, as part of its broad program in Indian Arts and Crafts.
