This is a photo journal on trains traveling through the Upper Midwest during the 1950's and 1960's as diesel power began to replace the steam engines of the earlier era.  The Upper Midwest was served by a wide variety of railroads both large and small.

This covers railroads covering the US. Including trains of the: Omaha Road (C& NW), Missabe Road, Milwaukee Road, Great Northern, Soo Line, Northern Pacific, Burlington Route (CB & Q), Rock Island, Illinois Central, Green Bay Route, Chicago Great Western.
