First person in Pope county and Glenwood to own a Volkswagen Beetle is Mrs. Edward E. Barsness of this city, who proudly shows off her new automobile. The car is just the right size for Mrs. Barsness, who is 4' 11" tall, since it is only 59.1 inches in height and 160.2 inches in length. The sedan manufactured by Volkswagenwerk, GMBH, Wolfsburg, Germany, weighs 1,565 pounds and goes 32 miles to the gallon, powered by a 4 stroke, 4-cylinder rear engine. Mrs. Barsness received the car last week, after waiting six months for delivery.
