Paper group of items related to the Jacob Ries Bottling Works, Inc. and Rock Spring Beverages. They were most likely collected by an employee of the company. Jacob Ries Bottling Works, Inc. was established in Shakopee in 1872. In 1880, Ries tapped a spring that he named "Rock Spring" and he began bottling that water under the name Rock Spring Beverages. Ries passed away in 1911 and his descendants kept the bottling works running. The family eventually sold their "secret recipe" to Pepsi Co.
