Description
Small oil painting of the Moses Starr Titus residence in Shakopee as it appeared in 1868. Seen is an image of a one and a half story, white frame house with three brick chimneys. A second building, possibly a barn, is also visible in the painting. Several walk ways lead up to the house and trees and wild flowers are seen in the foreground. The painting is housed inside a wooden frame. The frame is made up of four pieces of wood secured together. The front of the frame is covered with gold gilt showing a grape vine pattern. The backside of the frame has a square shaped opening and the painting is held in place by metal nails. Two metal eye hooks flank the image. Handwritten on the back of the image is "X 1868 X/Shakopee/Residence of Moses Starr Titus/Shakopee/Minn/1868."
