Description
Cardboard box from Crown Closures used to transport Rock Spring water. The piece is brown cardboard printed in red and black. Printed on the longer exterior sides of the box are illustrations of bottle caps with the text "Crown Closures/Satin Finish/CCS/Crown Cork & Seal Company, Inc.." Company locations around the United States are printed below the company name. Printed on one short side of the box is "Originators of the Crown Cork/First with composition cork discs/First with spot crowns/First with satin finish/First with many other important improvements in beverage sealing." Seen on the opposite short side is a paper label that reads "A-8219/K.M./Rock Spring White Soda." Pressed into the cardboard next to the label is a metal Rock Spring Water bottle cap. Printed on the box cover is "Jacob Ries Btl (illegible). Co./Shakopee, Minn." Sides of box are a single piece of cardboard stapled together at one corner. Covers were sealed with tape and cut along the edges at three sides to open the piece. Box is emptyGeographic Notes
