Description
Griffin Rug Machine most likely owned by Anna (Meyer) Buesgens. The object consists of the machine, two needles, two threaders, packaging box and instruction handbill. The machine is spring-loaded steel with a black plastic handle. It works by pushing the needle through burlap and pulling looped yarn through the burlap to make a rug. The needles are hollow metal and two different sizes for making different sized rugs. The threaders are thin metal strips; one end curls into a circle to form a handle. The packaging box is cardboard covered with maroon colored paper. "Griffin Rug Machine" is barely visible on the box lid. Handbill is paper printed in black. It includes maker's marks, directions for use, a parts guide, information about repairs, and instructions for framing a rug pattern.Geographic Notes
