Petticoat worn by Doris Krauth under her wedding gown. She married Jim Wermerskirchen at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Shakopee in 1958. The petticoat is ivory with nylon, cotton, crin and tulle netting. The top of the petticoat (covering the waist, hips, and rear) is nylon with an elastic waist band. Sewn to that is the skirt of the petticoat, which is three layers. The bottom layer is stiffened crin with a simple hem. The center layer is plain tulle. The top layer is also tulle, the hem if this layer is nine inches with ruffles, an embroidered flower pattern throughout, and a scalloped edge. Pinned to the center skirt is a pink velvet box. Two maker's labels are sewn along the waistband, the brand is "Hoops! My Dear." One tag includes laundering instructions.Geographic Notes
