Description
Commemorative plate from the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Prague. The piece is the size of a dinner plate. It is clay, most likely porcelain, with a clear shiny glaze. Seen on the front center of the plate is a red decal showing an illustration of the front exterior of the church with trees and grass in the foreground and clouds and sky in the background. Below the illustration is "Holy Trinity Lutheran Church/New Prague, Minnesota/1949-1984." The rim of the plate is edged in gold. A decal in black on the backside of the plate details the church's history, which was formed in New Prague in 1947 and officially organized with support from the American Lutheran Church in 1948. Later that year, support from the ALC was withdrawn and the church was reorganized in 1949 as a mission church of the Augustana Synod. Maker's information is also seen here.Geographic Notes
