Description
World War II military ribbon awarded posthumously to Raymond Dahl of Shakopee. The piece is a European-African-Middle Eastern campaign ribbon. It consists of a striped satin ribbon in brown, green, white, red, blue, and black with a gold metal backing and two butterfly clasps. Service ribbons were worn in place of the actual medals. Dahl served in the Army Air Corps. His plane was shot down over Berlin during a bombing mission and he was officially declared MIA on March 18, 1945. The medal was awarded to the Dahl family, upon their request, in 2007.
