Wedding gown worn by Cecelia Grommesch for her wedding to Aloysius “Al/Spike” Thomas on May 19, 1920 in Marystown. The dress is ivory crepe silk with an ivory silk lining. It is long sleeved with a drop waist and round neckline. A snap button closure is seen along the left side from the waist to the top of the shoulder. The lining has a snap button closure at the front. The waist is trimmed with a single ruffle of crepe. The sleeves are cut on a diagonal bias with a slit on the inside. The neckline and cuffs are decorated with rows of shimmery beads. Seen on the bodice and above the hem are white and shimmery bead patterns throughout. No maker's labels. Machine stitched, possibly home made.
