1919Description
Bridesmaid dress worn by Cecelia Grommesch in her sister's wedding in 1919. Mary Josephine Grommesch married Edward L. Gerhold on June 4, 1919 in Marystown. The dress is pink crepe silk with a pink silk lining. It is long sleeved with a drop waist and round neckline. A snap button closure is seen at the left side from the waist to the top of the shoulder. The cuffs and waist are trimmed with a single ruffle of crepe and the skirt is two tiered. Seen throughout the dress are white bead patterns where each bead is sewn on individually. A cherry pattern is seen at the chest and skirt. No maker's labels. Machine stitched, possibly home made.
