Description
Double-sided commemorative ribbon from St. Joseph. The front side of the ribbon is red silk and the back side is black silk. The two are stitched together along their top and bottom edges. Printed in gold on the front side of the piece is an illustration showing a Roman Catholic priest with a cross. The priest appears to be giving a blessing. Text around the illustration is printed in German and English. It reads "St. Aloysius Junglings Verein/St. Joseph, Scott Co. Minn." The German roughly translates to "St. Aloysius Levite Association". The same scene and text are printed in silver on the back side of the piece. Adhered to the bottom edge of the ribbons are gold and silver decorative bands with gold and silver fringe. The top edge formed by the ribbons is adhered to a brass pin. The center of the pin shows a symbol of an intertwined cross and anchor with a heart at the center. Text flanking the symbol reads "Faith/Hope/and Charity." Stitched at each side of the ribbons near the top edge are short gold tassels. No maker's marks.
