Description
Certificate of recognition issued to the City of Shakopee by the governor of Minnesota. The certificate is cream colored cardstock printed in red and white. Seen at the top of the certificate is the U. S. bicentennial logo. Printed and handwritten below the logo is the text "Certificate of Recognition/Present to City of Shakopee/In recognition and grateful appreciation for outstanding contributions to Minnesota's observance of the American Revolution Bicentennial./Presented this 6th day of Nov., 1976". It is signed by Governor Wendell R. Anderson and Lieutenant Governor Rudy Perpich. Seen on the facing left side of the certificate are a gold seal showing the Minnesota state seal along with two short red ribbons. No maker's marks. Document was kept by the city until donated to the historical society.Geographic Notes
