Description
Badge worn by Julius Coller, II as a member of a German fraternal organization. The organization's initials are D. R. K. and it was most likely a Roman Catholic fraternity. Seen at the top of the badge is a gold metal name tag with pin. Inside the name tag is a piece of paper with "Julius A. Coller/Shakopee," typed on it. Adhered to the bottom edge of the name tag are overlapping fabric ribbons. The top ribbon is shorter. It is gold and ivory striped satin with a button. The button has a gold tin frame and shows a blue and gold logo with the text "D. R. K. C. V./1855." The bottom ribbon is longer. It is red, white and blue striped satin with short fringe. Printed in gold on the ribbon is the text "28ste Jahresversammlung Des D. R. K. Staatsverbandes von Minnesota/Sept. 26-28, 1926." This translates as "28th Annual Meeting of D. R. K. Federation of Minnesota". A maker's label is adhered to the backside of the piece.
