Description
Wedding cake topper used by Margaret Budde and Adolph Gregory of Jordan when they were married in October 1937. The piece consists of the topper and its original packaging box. The topper is a bride figure and a groom figure. The bride is cast plastic with moveable arms attached to a round cardboard base. Her face is painted with eyes and red lips, and her bob hair is painted pink. She has a white paper wedding dress with a fabric bow, a green and white fabric headband, and a white fabric veil. The groom is cast plastic with moveable arms attached to a round cardboard base. His face is painted with eyes and lips, and his body is painted with a black, gray and white tuxedo. Adhered to his head is a black crepe paper top hat. The packaging box is cardboard covered with white and pink paper. Adhered to the lid is a piece of paper with an illustration of a bride and groom standing outside a church and the text "Here Comes The Bridal Pair". No maker's marks.Geographic Notes
