Description

Gold commemorative coin from Nicaragua. The coin is to commemorate the 100th birthday of Ruben Dario- a poet from Nicaragua. The obverse side of the coin has a well-known portrait of Ruben Dario. The portrait is a head and shoulders view in three quarter profile. Dario is resting his chin in the palm of his left hand. The portrait is surrounded by the words, "Ruben Dario Centenario Nacimiento 1967". The reverse side has an image of a triangle containing the images of the sun over five sand dunes. The triangle is surrounded by the words "Republica de Nicaragua America Central. "
The coin came with a hinged gift box which has a seal for the Central Bank of Nicaragua stamped on the lid. The box is covered in blue faux leather. The lid is lined with purple satin and stamped in cold are the words, "Commemoracion Centenario Natalicio de Ruben Dario". The bottom of the box is lined with purple velvet,
