Description
Ledger book kept by Scott County to track the county's bank accounts. The book has hard blue book cloth covers reinforced with maroon colored leather at the corner and spine and bound paper pages. Stamped in gold on the spine is "Bank Account/B/Scott County" along with maker's marks. Each page is pre-printed in red, blue and black with grids for tracking monetary transactions. Handwritten entries note the bank's name; treasurer's name; county; date; reason for entry; check number; check amount; deposit amount; and balance amount. Handwritten on the first page is a table of contents noting page numbers for the start of entries with accounts at the First National Bank of Shakopee, Scott County Bank, Bank of New Prague, People's State Bank of Jordan, the First State Bank of Jordan, the First State Bank of New Market, the First National Bank of Belle Plaine, and the Security State Bank of Shakopee. A bookplate with maker's marks is adhered to the inside front cover.Geographic Notes
