Description

Ledger of daily balances kept by the First National Bank of Shakopee. The book has hard purplish-black book cloth covers reinforced with black leather at the corners and spine. The bound paper pages are printed in red and blue with lines and columns. Handwritten entries track the daily dollar amounts of surplus, stock, bonds, real estate, taxes, expenses, exchanges, interest, cash, deposits, dollar amounts held at other banks, and so on between February 4, 1879 and February 21, 1882. Adhered to the inside front cover is a handwritten letter from the Office of Eli Southworth, Attorney dated February 21, 1881 outlining a fee schedule. No maker's marks.
