Description

Ledger kept by Kohls & Berens Store of Shakopee. The book has hard brown leather covers with a tan book clothe dust jacket. Printed in black on the spine of the dust jacket is "Ledger". The bound paper pages are printed in red and blue with line, columns, and page numbers. The first section of the ledger appears to be handwritten entries tracking the stores accounting. Entries include merchandise on hand, amounts paid for freight, expenses, interest, discounts, profits & losses, bills receivable, and supplier accounts. The remainder appears to be Kohls and Berens customer records tracking the date, merchandise purchase amounts, payments, credits, and balances due. No maker's marks.
