Description
Bronze commemorative coin from Sao Paulo, Brazil (A). The obverse displays the Pateo do Colegio, which was a Jesuit mission and the first building in the current city of Sao Paulo. There is an inscription along the perimeter of the coin around the building which reads, "Conduzindo suas bandeiras, São Paulo vergou a Tordesilhas." The reverse displays the coat of arms for the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil which consists of an armored arm holding a flag on a shield above a banner which reads, "Non Duor Duco."
The coin is stored inside of a blue velvet case (B) which is lined on the inside with white satin and red flocking. There is a white office label on the bottom of the case which reads, "Commemorative medal of Sao Paulo, Brazil - gift of Paulo Salim Malif, Mayor of Sao Paulo, 1970." There is also a yellow circular sticker on the bottom of the case with a handwritten inscription which reads, "#118 case 9B".
