Description
Eisenhower silver dollar (A). The obverse has a profile portrait of President Dwight Eisenhower facing left. "Dwight D. Eisenhower" is inscribed around the portrait. The reverse has an image of a personification of freedom; a woman wearing a classical gown. Behind her are a scene of a covered wagon driven by oxen on the left, and a man plowing a field using horses on the right. The inscription around the perimeter reads, "Inaugurated President/ January 20, 1953."
The coin is stored in a hinged case (B). The case is made of blue vinyl with a stainless steel frame. The presidential seal is stamped on the lid in silver. The inside of the lid is lined in white satin. The word, "Balfour," is stamped in blue on the satin. The base is lined in blue velvet and has an impression to hold the medal in place. The case also fits inside of a white box (CD) with a stamp on the lid which reads, "Balfour/Jewelry's Finest Craftsmen."
