Description
Bronze elephant given to Maurice Stans in 1969. The elephant is mounted to a wooden base via two small screws s in the elephant's front left and back right foot. The elephant's tusks are made of molded plastic which has been stained to give it the appearance of ivory. A brass plate mounted upright in front of the elephant with an etched inscription which reads, Presented to: The Honorable Maurice H. Stans Secretary of Commerce in appreciation South Carolina Republican Party Greenville, S.C. Sept. 19, 1969."Related People and Organizations
