Description
Plaque given to Maurice Stans by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The plaque is a large coper map affixed to a wooden frame with four copper bolts. The map has an image of Portland Harbor, Maine etched in reverse. There is a brass plaque affixed to the bottom of the frame which reads, "Maurice H. Stans/ In appreciation for your support in bringing the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration into being/ February 1972." There is a white office label adhered to the upper right corner of the map which reads, "Copper & Print Maps- NOAA."
