Description
Hame / Horse Collar donated by J. D. Lageson of Canora, Sask. Canada August 1, 1952. Note attached reads: "This combination horse's collar & hames was brought from Scandinavia by an immigrant 47 years ago [or 1905] and said to be the style used in many European countries in the 1850's. To harness a horse, it is reversed when slipping it over the horse's head and righted again in the proper position. This the donor has been told by an immigrant from Norway." Made of leather and wood and cushioned with horsehair.
