Description
Corn husking hook / peg / pin. This husking peg was used by B. K. Savre (Bertinius Savre) when he was a boy in the Iowa cornfields. It has a leather handle - strap that is 3.5" long and an inch wide. There is a central leather loop in the handle so the fingers of the wearer would be separated. There is a metal piece riveted to the front. This 4.5" piece has a sharp pointed hook used to pull down the corn husk.
