Description
Bell - Cowbell of brass. 4.5" high. It is tapered at the top to 1.5 x 2.75 inches. The top has two raised ridges there an iron loop has been soldered on for carrying purposes. The base is 4.5 x 3 inches wide. A piece has broken out - 1.3/8 x 2 inches, with a crack extending from one corner. The clapper has broken off. There is an inscription on the top of the bell. The first word is illegible, but the second word is Birmingham. Used in Newfoundland in the 1860's and brought to Pope County, Ben Wade Township in 1871.
