Description
Mower - horse drawn open drive. "Meadow King" model with 4 foot cut. Made before 1900 by name Gregg Iron Works of Trumansburg, NY. It has an open 55" long sickle, a red body, black wheels and blade. The spokes in the wheels and the seat are curved and fancy. Used to cut hay.
It has a very long 170" tongue.
Thor D. (bachelor Tom) Pennie owned the mower in the early 1900's until his death in 1936. Murton Pennie has owned it since. It was kept in a shed until the Villard / Westport Centennial. Mitch Steiner of Foley pulled the mower with his team of horses.
