Description
Spear used for fishing, especially for spearing when the suckers ran in the spring, or for catching that pickerel lurking around the bait under the ice. The handle is a squared length of oak 40" long, broken at the end. The spear is 10.5" long with 4 barbed tines. It is fastened to the handle by a band of iron around a store bought holder that has Pat. May 26-14 on it. The holder was patented in 1914. It is hand forged and hand made.
