Description
Heavy white ceramic plate; pattern printed in green features a map of the Wadsworth Trail, the Alfalfa Arch, the Government Indian School, the Old Stevens County Courthouse, the First Post Office of Morris, and Scandia Church; a central medallion in the pattern features a lamp, a lady slipper, and railroad tracks and reads “Morris Area Centennial / 1871 / 1971 / Minnesota”; a short paragraph on the back describes the early settlement and naming of Morris. This plate was placed in the time capsule and unearthed July 2001, 30 years later. Dan Schivone, staff person at former Welfare office, Stevens County was involved in organizing packet of materials put in time capsule.
