Description
Nicholas Hasskamp's Army Combat Uniform (ACU). The uniform is in "Digital Camo" or Universal Camoflage pattern. He wore this uniform during basic training and while stationed in Germany. It has a zippered front and zippered pockets. The uniform includes a top, pants, a windbreaker for added warmth, winter pants to wear over regular pants for added warmth that include suspenders, a patrol cap, a khaki t-shirt, a khaki webbed belt, socks, boots and a black beret. The beret was usually worn with a dress uniform, but there was a time when it was permitted to wear with the ACU. The sleeves of both tops have velcro patches so that insignia can easily be changed when a soldier is promoted. There are also infrared reflective tabs to make the soldier visible to people wearing infrared goggles. The attached insignia is for the 2nd Cavalry. His highest rank was Corporal.Digi-cam uniforms were primarily used between 2004-2011.
