Description
2 stacks of cannon balls. The balls are 11 inches in diameter and sit in a small pyramid in a 25 inch square wooden frame. There are 2 sets of 5 balls. The stack to the west is "a" the stack to the east is "b". Information was contributed (source unknown) that the cannon balls, 11 inches Dahlgren / Dalgren naval artillery shells, are from the Villard cemetery.
It is unclear how they came to Villard. They were used in seacoast mortars in the Civil War. There is also a cannon downtown Villard. It is a naval gun, one of 12 known, forged in Pittsburgh. Possibly from the U.S.S. Constitution.  MP 2015.

The cannon is a 32 pound cannon from the Civil War. Possibly made in Norfolk, Virginia. - Brent 2021
