Description
Olive green, wool blouse coat from World War I. Worn by Tofel Raitor of Waverly. Coat is button down with 5 buttons which have the US eagle design. Eagle is holding a snake in its mouth, an olive branch in one talon, and arrows in the other talon. Four pockets, two on the left side and two in the right. Each pocket closes with a small metal button with the eagle design. The Mandarin collar has the US Army insignia on the right side of the collar and the Infantry insignia (crossed rifles) on the left side. "388 INF" scratched into the insignia pin. There are no patches on the jacket. The khaki liner has "B/ 109 HQ/ T.R & M.P/ 93" stamped in black ink, with something illegible handwritten above it. A green silk handkerchief was in one of the front pockets (1974.026.005)
