Description
This camera has three parts: a. The main body of the camera is enclosed in a leather case. The back has a metal tab that opens a door to expose the works of the camera. The front of the camera has the lens that will expand out to use when taking a photo. b. The cover of the camera can be removed by two push levers on either side of the camera. In one corner is a half inch circle of red plastic that would be used to monitor the film. Inside the cover are engraved numbers, letters, and the name, "No. 1 A Folding Pocket Kodak, R. R. Lens Type, Manufactured by Eastman Kodak Co., Rochester, N. Y. " c. This small string-like item is called a shutter release cable. It is 6 inches long with metal tips. One end has a push release lever. The cable is made of braided cloth made into a cord.

The No. 1 and No. 1A Pocket Kodak was a folding camera. It made 2 ½×4 ¼ " exposures. The Pocket No. 1 used 120 film and the Pocket No. 1A used A116 film. Manufactured 1899-1915.
