Description
Bright blue vest, with discoloration from wear. Minnesota Golden Gopher patch on wearer's right, toward outer bottom of front. Gopher is golden- yellow, white, and dark brown, with dark brown border around it. It is wearing a beanie with an "M" with seraphs on it, and alternating colored stripes of the yellow-gold and brown. There are creases sewn into the vest at 1.5 inches from the under arms. Centered on the back of the vest is a white outline of the state of Minnesota, outlined in a dark blue velvet. The tracing is sewn onto the vest with matching white thread, whereas the velvet may have been ironed on, or professionally adhered to the tracing. Inside the outline reads: Minnesota (line 1) Chapter (line 2) Maple (line 3) Lake (line 4) Napus (line 5). The words "Minnesota", "Chapter", and "Napus" are all in the dark blue velvet material. "Maple" and "Lake" are in red, and are in a style that gives the illusion of being stamped onto the state. The red of these words is aging, and had darkened. Directly above the "pl" in "Maple", there is a dark blue star, held on with a bead (small, white seed bead), and missing one of its points. The vest is edged, with no other signs of a custom hem. The tracing of Minnesota has noticeable aging, which has detracted from the original white coloring. Accession number located at center of back of vest. Some signs of wear under arms, and throughout the body of the vest. "NAPUS" stands for National Association of Postmasters of the United States (taken from official NAPUS website).
