Description
This light brown knee-length coat is made of cotton and lined with dark gold silk cloth. There is a collar that appears to be re-made... original decorative sewing is reversed so that the mink collar could be attached to the collar. The decorative stitching is done with dark gold thread in an interlocking chain pattern. The decorative stitching appears in four vertical panels, 3.5 x 19 inches, located at the right side and back of the coat's skirt area. Those panels also have a vertical decorative pleated panel, 1 X 19 inches. Near the top of each panel are 3 horizontal cloth strips, 3/4 inch wide that cover part of the decorative stitching and pleating. A 2 1/2 inch cuff is sewn at the end of each sleeve with matching decorative stitching and pleating. On the front of the coat there is a small pocket sewn into the lining. A piece of lining is pleated to cover the pocket opening. Inside the pocket is a label reading, "3630 Produced Under Conditions Approved By Prosan's Joint Board Sanitary Control, New York City, Patent Pending."
