Title
Minnesota Fabrics Dress Pattern CardCreation Date
1980Description
Dress pattern card form from Minnesota Fabrics for Karen George's Anoka Halloween royalty dresses. All of the queens from that year shopped for patterns and fabric together, and made their dresses at home in order to save money. Karen's mother Donna George made her dresses. The card indicates that they purchased Simplicity pattern 9165 and Butterick 3361, both size small.
Karen George memories: "The 1970s were known for hard economic times, including rising gas prices and world conflict. Holly, Karen G. and Karen K. (and families) had to make dollars stretch. We met at Minnesota Fabrics in the Coon Rapids Family Mall to select a dress pattern and fabric. Our yellow dress was sewn (mine by my mother Donna) and used for nearly all appearances (parades and coronations)."
