Karen George memories: "As Anoka Princess, Karen’s entire family supported her role... No one was more surprised than me to receive the honor to represent Anoka—well, maybe my brother Eric. After coronation mom & dad took me to the Anoka McDonald’s where Eric was finishing up a shift. We walked in (me w/crown & flowers, parents with big smiles) and Eric saw us and said “No Way!”  Sister Julie was off on her first professional photography job taking kid photos at Kmarts across the region. Although crowns weren’t her thing, she always asked about my experiences and was happy for me."
