1980
Description
Anoka Halloween royalty in a Northeast Minneapolis parade, 1980. They won three trophies at this event. The float used in this parade was the new pumpkin patch float constructed that same year. Eight (8) color and black and white photographs.
Karen George memories: "One notable story is at the first parade, my leg went through the floor of the float. Upon inspection, the pink & purple flower float needed a major overhaul. Father Jim [James George] designed the float to be an eye catching, Halloween themed, easy to store float design. Anoka had a new float reflecting our town's claim as Halloween Capital of the World! The float was rebuilt using Main Motors garage and all 3 crown families [George, Kind, Lysdahl] helped!"
