Title

Anoka Royalty Parade Float

Creation Date

1979 – 1980

Description

Anoka Halloween royalty on the pre-1980 pink and purple parade float. This float broke and was replaced in late 1979 or early 1980. Miss Anoka Holly Lysdahl and Anoka Princess Karen George are waving to parade attendees.
Karen George memories: "One notable story is at the first parade, my leg went through the floor of the float. Upon inspection, the pink & purple flower float needed a major overhaul. Father Jim [James George] designed the float to be an eye catching, Halloween themed, easy to store float design. Anoka had a new float reflecting our town's claim as Halloween Capital of the World! The float was rebuilt using Main Motors garage and all 3 crown families [George, Kind, Lysdahl] helped!"
