Description

This white, knitted bedspread is knitted in a fan design. The spread is 60 x 84". It was hand made by Tanta Peterson. The edges have a little scalloped trim.

This is called a shell counterpane. Each fan or shell shape is knit separately and sewn together.

There is a similar pattern in Godey's Ladies Book July 1860.
